The sandbag from MyPortal Studios adds a distinctive defensive detail to fortifications, trenches, and other military model scenes. This diorama accessory is available in scales 1:18, 1:20, 1:22,5, 1:24, 1:32, and 1:35, and can be displayed on its own or as part of a sandbag position.
The flattened, slightly irregular cushion shape has rounded edges and gathered ends. Suggested folds and seam details, along with the coarse relief, make the surface resemble a filled burlap sack. This design works as discarded protective material or as part of a position built along a trench.
Depending on the scale, the sandbag can be placed in different parts of a military scene. The following ideas suggest possible uses in model-making:
- 1:18: As a defensive detail in a large military diorama, beside a trench position in a collector's display cabinet.
- 1:20: As part of a defensive line in an architectural model setting, at the edge of a fortified passage.
- 1:22,5: As a discarded sandbag in a landscape model, near a small field position along the path.
- 1:24: As protective material in a miniature room scene, directly against a makeshift fortified wall.
- 1:32: As an element in a Gauge 1 landscape scene, stacked at the entrance to a small trench.
