Die Figur zeigt eine vierbeinige, hochbeinige Steppenbestie im Moment des Antritts: Der lange, S‑förmig gebogene Hals streckt sich nach vorn, der schmale, langgezogene Kopf ist aufmerksam erhoben. Ein Hinterlauf ist bereits aufgesetzt, der andere schwebt in der Luft, während die schlankeren Vorderläufe angewinkelt nachfassen - eine Pose, die den Übergang vom Trab in den Sprint einfängt und die Anspannung der Bewegung klar spürbar macht.
