The fern frond by MyPortal Studios adds natural vegetation to dioramas, landscape models, and other model-making settings. The miniature plant is available in scales 1:18, 1:20, 1:22,5, 1:24, 1:32, and 1:35. Display it on its own as a focal point or combine it with other plants for varied ground cover.

Several finely feathered, gently wavy fronds grow from a compact earth-and-root base. Two softly arching main stems create an organic silhouette. The detailed leaf structures and suggested base add a natural accent without dominating the rest of the scene.

Depending on the scale, the fern can complement a range of model-making settings. The following ideas suggest possible scenes and specific places for the miniature plant:

  • 1:18: In a garage diorama, as wild growth at the base of a weathered exterior wall or along the edge of a courtyard.
  • 1:20: In a landscape diorama, at the edge of a narrow path where the vegetation meets a small embankment.

Product Notes

The support structures remain on the figures for safe transport. These can be removed with fine pliers or carefully by hand. The figures can be gently heated with a hair dryer to facilitate release. Further information can be found in the FAQs .
