The round parasol canopy from MyPortal Studios complements picnic areas, parks, and other outdoor spaces in dioramas and model scenes. It is available in scales 1:18, 1:20, 1:22,5, 1:24, 1:32, and 1:35 and can be incorporated into a variety of miniature worlds as a standalone decorative element.

The gently domed canopy is made up of several segmented panels that meet at the central apex. Its softly curved edge, which dips slightly downward, evokes the fabric shape of an outdoor parasol. The canopy is included; the table, center pole, and other attachments are not included and can be added to suit your scene.

The following scale suggestions show how the canopy can fit into different model worlds:

  • 1:18: As a focal point over a picnic area at the edge of a garage diorama with model cars.
  • 1:20: As a shelter for a small rest area in a street diorama, near a miniature backdrop of buildings and paths.
  • 1:22,5: As shade for a seating area on a garden railway platform, set within a station scene.
  • 1:24: As part of a cozy courtyard in front of a dollhouse or in a decorated miniature room.

Product Notes

The support structures remain on the figures for safe transport. These can be removed with fine pliers or carefully by hand. The figures can be gently heated with a hair dryer to facilitate release. Further information can be found in the FAQs .
