The bushy fern (Ref. 67D) by MyPortal Studios brings a compact, lifelike plant silhouette to dioramas and model landscapes. This decorative element is available in scales 1:18, 1:20, 1:22,5, 1:24, 1:32 and 1:35, and works as a standalone focal point or as an addition to a designed setting.
Several upright, fan-shaped fronds form the plant. Each central rib is lined with closely spaced, slightly curved leaflets; the different heights of the fronds create a natural outline. A small, flat plant base joins the fronds and makes placement easier. The fern can be used as a green accent in garden, park and landscape scenes.
The following ideas show how the fern can feature in different miniature worlds, depending on the scale:
- 1:18: As dense foliage at the edge of a garage diorama, beside a small driveway or in a planted display-case setting.
- 1:20: At the base of a modeled building wall in an architectural model scene, as a transition between the building and the landscape.
- 1:22,5: Beside a garden path in a garden railway landscape, as a compact cluster of ferns near an embankment.
