The field shelter window frame by MyPortal Studios adds a distinctive façade detail to dioramas and model settings. Available in scales 1:18, 1:20, 1:22,5, 1:24, 1:32 and 1:35, it can be used as a standalone focal point or as part of a detailed building wall.
The tall component features a wide outer edge and a distinctly recessed inner rabbet. The window opening is open, with no glazing or muntins. Clearly stepped surfaces emphasize the outline and provide details for custom painting, weathering or dirt effects. This simple window detail is especially suited to the practical, utilitarian look of a field shelter.
The following ideas show how the frame can be incorporated into different model and diorama scenes, depending on the scale:
- 1:18: In a miniature room scene, the window frame can be placed in the exterior wall of a small field shelter beside the depicted work area.
- 1:20: For an architectural model, it could be placed in the side façade of a simple shelter at the edge of a street diorama setting.
- 1:22,5: In a garden railway landscape, the frame can add structure to the wall of a remote field shelter near a modeled path.
- 1:24: In a military diorama scene, the window can be shown as a façade detail on a shelter at the edge of an open landscape.
- 1:32: In a landscape model, the frame can create a focal point on a building wall beside a small supply area.
- 1:35: In a workshop scene, the open window fits on the exterior wall of a field shelter, perhaps near the depicted work area.
This is an unpainted physical model-making object, not an STL download. The design is by MyPortal Studios; the window frame is not a toy. The settings described and additional scene accessories are suggestions and are not included.
