Fern Frond 466D from MyPortal Studios brings finely detailed vegetation to dioramas and model landscapes. This unpainted miniature is available in scales 1:18, 1:20, 1:22,5, 1:24, 1:32 and 1:35 and can be used as an individual plant accent or to fill out denser ground cover.

A long, slightly curved central stem carries numerous side branches with densely arranged, pointed leaflets. The lower fronds are wider, gradually becoming smaller toward the tip. The finely detailed, leaf-like surface and flat base define its recognizable fern shape and make it easy to place among ground cover.

The following ideas show how the fern frond can fit into different model settings suited to each scale:

  • 1:18: As a lush plant accent beside the entrance to an overgrown miniature greenhouse setting.
  • 1:20: At the edge of an overgrown path in an architectural model of a country garden.
  • 1:22,5: Among grasses at the foot of an embankment in a garden railway landscape, near a small station stop.
  • 1:24: In a shady corner of a dollhouse garden, right beside a low wall.

Product Notes

The support structures remain on the figures for safe transport. These can be removed with fine pliers or carefully by hand. The figures can be gently heated with a hair dryer to facilitate release. Further information can be found in the FAQs .
