The empty rustic market crate by MyPortal Studios is a versatile diorama and model-building accessory for market stalls, storage areas, and loading bays. Available in scales 1:18, 1:20, 1:22,5, 1:24, 1:32, and 1:35, it adds a well-used, functional look to miniature scenes.

The shallow crate appears to be made from roughly finished horizontal boards with a visible wood grain and irregular edges. Reinforced corners and short slats extending above the rim define its shape. The empty crate looks like a well-used piece of stored cargo and is particularly suited to market and loading scenes.

Depending on the scale, the crate can be placed in different locations within a miniature setting:

  • 1:18: As a stocked goods crate beside a market stall in a garage diorama or a collector's display case.
  • 1:20: As a transport container at the loading dock of an architectural model with a small warehouse.
  • 1:22,5: As a storage crate beside the goods shed in a garden railway station scene, next to the path to the platform.
  • 1:24: As an empty crate under a sales counter in a miniature room or in a detailed market lane.

Product Notes

The support structures remain on the figures for safe transport. These can be removed with fine pliers or carefully by hand. The figures can be gently heated with a hair dryer to facilitate release. Further information can be found in the FAQs .
