The rustic barrel trestle adds character to storage, market and transport scenes as a distinctive diorama detail: a support for a barrel that also makes an effective addition to workshop and model-making settings. It is available in scales 1:18, 1:20, 1:22.5, 1:24, 1:32 and 1:35.
The slightly sloped supporting surface is made of wide planks with a hand-worked wood appearance. Four raised stop blocks frame the support, suggesting that they keep a barrel from rolling away. Sturdy legs and diagonal braces give the structure its solid, functional shape. Visible grain, rough edges and weathered-looking details give the barrel trestle its rustic character; the surface texture is depicted, but this does not indicate the material used.
Depending on the scale, the barrel trestle can be used in different model-making settings as part of a suitably themed scene:
- 1:18: As a stand for a beer barrel beside the workbench in a garage diorama or collector’s display case.
- 1:20: At the edge of a busy market stall in a miniature setting, near crates and street-market goods.
- 1:22.5: In front of a small garden railway storage building, as a rustic detail in a station scene.
- 1:24: In a dollhouse pantry or storage room, beside a wall as a space-saving scene detail.
- 1:32: Under an awning at the edge of a rural freight yard, as an accessory for a Gauge 1 landscape.
- 1:35: In a workshop scene near the entrance to a warehouse, among other elements of a vehicle diorama.
You will receive an unpainted model-making object designed by MyPortal Studios; it is not a toy. The settings and scene suggestions mentioned are for inspiration. The barrel, figures and additional scene accessories are not included.
