The classic outdoor wall lantern from MyPortal Studios adds a traditional lighting accent to the walls of dioramas and model settings. It is available in scales 1:18, 1:20, 1:22,5, 1:24, 1:32, and 1:35 and works as a distinctive architectural detail in a variety of miniature worlds.
The design features a lantern with a broad projecting roof, tapered body, and finial. Framed side panels shape the downward-tapering, faceted lantern body; a short base and decorative accent complete the design. The side bracket is designed for fixed mounting on a model wall. The carefully detailed surfaces and clearly defined components give the lantern the character of a classic outdoor wall light.
These scales offer different ways to incorporate the wall detail into a cohesive modeling scene:
- 1:18: As a wall light above the entrance to a miniature workshop, complementing a garage diorama setting.
- 1:20: On the facade of a small model building in an architectural model with a narrow street scene.
- 1:22,5: Beside the entrance to a rural station stop as a fitting detail in a garden railway station scene.
- 1:24: Above a side door in a dollhouse or on the wall of a furnished miniature room.
- 1:32: On the exterior wall of a railway building near the platform, as a detail in a Gauge 1 landscape.
- 1:35: At the entrance to a workshop or depot as a wall detail in a vehicle diorama.
