This fantasy miniature depicts a skeleton rider atop a massive, armored giant scorpion. The scorpion stands with its legs spread and pincers extended; its segmented tail arches high above its body and points forward. The rider sits leaning forward on its back. He holds a broad-tipped spear angled downward and carries a chain in his other hand.

The humped, partly spiked carapace, long segmented legs, and large pincers give the mount a distinctive silhouette. A striking, two-part blade attachment sits at the end of its tail. The decorated back armor consists of overlapping plates, ribbed fan-shaped elements, and encircling ornamental bands. It is complemented by an openwork head plate, fittings on the tail, and a tall decorative structure with a beetle motif and wing-like ornaments.

The rider’s gaunt, skeletal form features exposed bones and wears a head wrap, large shoulder plates, and a breastplate. Wraps on the arms and legs, a belt, and tattered strips of cloth complete the equipment. The round base is sculpted with uneven ground and rocky rises beneath some of the legs. The available versions are “Armored with Rider,” “Armored without Rider,” and “Without Back Armor.” One version is selected per order; this is not a set.
